Yalink is a contech startup focused on developing a secure platform to connect construction engineering companies with freelance engineers and technicians, featuring an all-in-one app that includes a generative AI-powered quotation tool and a quick payment system. Initially facing challenges with their simple tech stack, Yalink sought a more robust backend solution and evaluated several BaaS providers, ultimately choosing Nhost for its open-source nature and seamless integration of services like authentication, database, and GraphQL APIs. The migration to Nhost took about three months, during which Yalink transitioned from a Flask backend to Nhost-managed services and switched from React to a Next.js framework for their frontend. Leveraging Nhost's AI capabilities, particularly Graphite's Auto-Embeddings, Yalink has enhanced its ability to efficiently match freelancers with project needs, thanks to the ease of generating embeddings and utilizing an AI assistant for database queries. The switch to Nhost has allowed Yalink to focus on delivering value to users and continues to explore the platform's capabilities for future advancements.
