Managing SunRocks' complex tech infrastructure, which relied heavily on Hasura and PostgreSQL, became challenging as a solo developer, prompting a migration from a costly, over-engineered environment to Nhost. This transition to Nhost, chosen for its open-source nature and simplified operations, was completed within a month and significantly eased the management of SunRocks' software, allowing the author to pursue additional projects. The migration involved replacing Keycloak with Nhost Auth and using Nhost's functions and storage, with the platform's intuitive dashboard and strong support proving invaluable during this critical phase. The author highlights the importance of Nhost's features, particularly its ability to handle custom services, which enabled a smooth transition and ongoing management without the need for deep DevOps expertise.
