Introducing Always-On Global Server Load Balancing

Ngrok has launched its always-on Global Server Load Balancer (GSLB), a service designed to improve application performance and resilience by automatically routing end-user and agent traffic to the nearest Point of Presence (PoP) based on latency, without requiring additional configuration. This cloud-based solution enhances the delivery of faster and more reliable user experiences by intelligently distributing network traffic and providing geo-failover capabilities to ensure high availability if a PoP becomes unavailable. Ngrok's GSLB simplifies application and API delivery by offloading non-core functions, protecting origin servers from unauthorized traffic, and eliminating operational overhead for IT teams, as it automatically selects optimal regions and enforces security policies at the edge. This service is preconfigured and enabled by default for all customers, supporting various deployment scenarios like agent, embedded SDKs, and Kubernetes Ingress Controller, and allows enterprises to achieve operational agility and instant scalability without the need for provisioning or maintenance.
