One-Click Java Log Forwarding: Debug Faster with New Relic
Blog post from New Relic
New Relic has introduced a new feature that simplifies Java application log forwarding, allowing developers to enable or disable it directly from the New Relic APM UI without requiring code changes or redeployments, thus enhancing troubleshooting efficiency. This advancement, available for Java applications running version 7.6.0 or higher of the New Relic Java agent, utilizes Server-Side Configuration (SSC) to automatically correlate logs with APM transaction traces, distributed traces, and errors, providing "Logs in Context" for faster root cause analysis. Developers and on-call engineers can now quickly access the necessary logs during an active incident investigation, reducing the Mean Time To Resolution (MTTR) and streamlining the debugging process without disrupting their development cycle. This feature marks a significant reduction in the operational complexities traditionally associated with log configuration, empowering teams to address application issues more swiftly and effectively.
