New Relic introduces expanded Security Rx capabilities designed to help engineering and security teams manage vulnerabilities using live production context rather than static CVE data alone. Citing reports that AI now produces much production code and that open-source vulnerabilities are increasing, the company frames vulnerability remediation as an operational reliability issue complicated by faster software delivery, shorter exploitation windows, and costly manual security work. The update includes a modernized Security Overview with real-time CVE advisories, risk correlation, remediation tracking, and runtime-based prioritization using APM telemetry to identify vulnerabilities actually active in production. Its Autopilot Security Rx agent enriches coding tools with details such as loaded library versions, service relationships, stack traces, and call paths to generate more targeted fix proposals, while integrations with GitHub, AI coding environments, and Jira support ownership routing, ticket synchronization, progress tracking, and production verification. New Relic argues that shared runtime visibility, automated triage, and verified remediation can help teams address security risks more efficiently as AI-generated code and software supply-chain exposure grow.
