NRQL is a SQL-like language used for analytics since 2014, allowing customers to write custom queries and analyze data sent to New Relic. The development of NRQL alerts was announced at the FutureStack16 user conference in San Francisco last year, with hundreds of customers participating in a limited-release beta program. NRQL alerts offer highly customized alerting capabilities using NRQL queries on data stored in New Relic Insights and NRDB, providing full-stack visibility and easy-to-use UI for creating alert conditions. The new feature extends the capability to event data stored in NRDB, allowing users to slice and dice it to receive notifications when thresholds are met. This enables endless possibilities for ops and DevOps teams, with examples of useful queries shared by early adopters.
