Google Cloud Platform Observability enhancements now GA

New Relic has announced the general availability of new capabilities for Google Cloud Platform Observability (GCPO), aimed at enhancing enterprise-scale monitoring. These enhancements include broader metric coverage, secure onboarding through Workload Identity Federation (WIF) for keyless authorization, and Terraform-based deployment for consistent monitoring configurations across multiple projects. The update allows for faster data access with a 1-minute polling option for select services and integrates Google Cloud infrastructure telemetry with application performance monitoring (APM) on the same platform. This enables teams to correlate infrastructure behavior with application issues, thereby improving incident investigation and response times. Existing New Relic Google Cloud integrations will continue to function, but new projects are encouraged to adopt the updated tools and methods to take full advantage of the new features.
