First-Class OpenTelemetry: Break free without breaking workflows
Blog post from New Relic
OpenTelemetry (OTel) is becoming a standard for modern system instrumentation, but its adoption can present challenges such as fragmented agent strategies and collector blind spots. New Relic is enhancing its commitment to OpenTelemetry by introducing several February releases aimed at simplifying and scaling the adoption process. These releases include Infra NRDOT for OTel-first infrastructure monitoring, hybrid agents that allow the use of OpenTelemetry APIs without disrupting existing workflows, and Collector Observability to manage and monitor OpenTelemetry collectors effectively. The goal is to provide a seamless transition to OpenTelemetry with minimal disruption, enabling teams to modernize at their own pace while maintaining existing observability workflows.
