Extend observability and code discussion to your IDE with New Relic CodeStream
Blog post from New Relic
New Relic has launched a preview of its new CodeStream feature, which integrates observability directly into developers' IDEs, streamlining application instrumentation, collaboration, and debugging processes without the need to switch between different platforms. This innovation aims to bridge the gap between development and operations by allowing developers to manage tasks, collaborate on code, and address production issues efficiently within their development environment. Key features include integration with project management tools like Jira and GitHub, in-IDE code discussions, pull request management, and quick production error debugging, all designed to enhance workflow and reduce mean time to resolution (MTTR). The preview of CodeStream, available to New Relic customers until January 2022, reflects the company's vision to embed data-driven insights across all stages of software development, with future enhancements such as Pixie Dynamic Logging expected to further aid in production troubleshooting. While the preview is free, certain advanced features will require a paid license post the preview period, and the blog post includes forward-looking statements subject to risks and uncertainties.
