Debugging Event Sources for AWS Lambda
Blog post from New Relic
AWS Lambda functions are integral to serverless architectures, acting as essential components within event-driven systems. As these applications become more complex, understanding which services trigger Lambda functions is key for maintaining observability and diagnosing issues. To enhance this capability, New Relic has introduced event sources for Node.js and Python, offering users immediate insights into AWS services that initiate Lambda function calls. This new feature provides metrics such as duration, invocation counts, and errors, all linked to specific AWS services. Additionally, New Relic's tools, like the Facet Builder and logs in context, enable developers to analyze and troubleshoot serverless applications more efficiently by correlating metrics and logs. Users can update to the latest version to access these features, which are available across New Relic's Serverless plans. Adam Johnson, a Principal Product Manager at New Relic, emphasizes the ease these tools bring in managing serverless applications.
