The New Relic team has removed inspected count (IC) limits for all customers, eliminating dropped queries due to IC limits and 15-minute wait times for limits to reset. This change allows for a doubling of query capacity without rejected queries once new limits are reached. The removal of IC limits is made possible by significant changes under the hood of New Relic's database (NRDB), including a migration to the public cloud, cellular architecture, and near-real-time feedback mechanisms that detect and respond to individual user workloads. These changes enable more efficient resource utilization, improved query availability and performance service level objectives, and a better experience for all customers without imposing limits on any of them.
