How Cedalio uses Neon for an efficient development workflow

Cedalio, a data platform focused on sustainability and transparency, leverages AI and smart contracts to streamline Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting and data verification processes, making data untamperable and audits more efficient. The platform automates data extraction using AI, centralizes information for reporting, and manages suppliers through automated tracking, while ensuring data transparency by organizing information from various sources and storing it on a blockchain for auditability. Originally using DynamoDB, Cedalio transitioned to Neon for its superior developer experience and features such as database branching and scale-to-zero capabilities, which facilitate a one-database-per-customer architecture, ensuring data isolation and security. By adopting Neon, Cedalio can automate the setup of isolated environments for each pull request through GitHub Actions and Fly.io, accelerating development cycles and reducing costs. Additionally, Cedalio's new architecture leverages Postgres WAL to secure database operations and persists them into decentralized storage solutions, providing an independent verification mechanism for clients and ensuring data recovery independent of Cedalio’s infrastructure.
