Watch it progress: Improving visibility for non-standard asset processing

Mux has introduced two new tools to enhance the processing of non-standard video inputs, aiming to make video uploads more efficient and transparent. The first tool is a webhook event, "video.asset.non_standard_input_detected," which notifies users when their video requires additional transcoding due to non-standard inputs, providing specific reasons for this requirement. This event allows users to adjust their workflows to avoid future delays. The second enhancement is the addition of a "progress" field in the Asset API response, which offers real-time updates on the transcoding progress and estimated completion percentage, enabling users to better manage their expectations during video processing. These features are part of Mux's ongoing efforts to improve the handling of non-standard inputs, with more updates planned for the future.
