Title, creator, and more: New ways to identify your videos in Mux

Mux has introduced new metadata support to simplify video management and enhance user experience by allowing users to attach titles, creator details, and external IDs directly to their videos. This feature is particularly beneficial for both novice users and experienced teams by eliminating the need for complex databases to track video content. The new metadata fields—title, creator_id, and external_id—allow users to name videos meaningfully, identify their creators, and link existing systems to Mux, which facilitates efficient cross-referencing and enhances the workflow from video upload to viewer engagement analysis. Users can add or edit metadata directly through a newly redesigned dashboard or via a single API call, with additional support for direct uploads, asset editing, and filtering through Mux Data and the engagement dashboard. This update aims to make video management more intuitive and is part of Mux's ongoing efforts to expand metadata usage across its platform.
