‘It's so much better’: Why Punchpass switched from Vimeo to Mux
Blog post from Mux
Punchpass, a class management software for yoga and fitness studios, successfully migrated 25 terabytes of video content from Vimeo to Mux, resulting in faster uploads, reliable playback, and improved analytics capabilities. Previously, Punchpass faced limitations with Vimeo, such as poorly documented APIs, lack of basic features like view counts, and complex upload workflows that involved AWS. The switch to Mux, which took less than a week, eliminated these issues by offering a more efficient upload process and comprehensive documentation, significantly reducing support tickets related to video uploads. Mux's robust infrastructure allows Punchpass to provide per-client video segmentation and storage limits without custom development, while also aligning better with the intuitive understanding of instructors through minute-based pricing. The improved video infrastructure has enabled Punchpass to focus on additional enhancements, such as easier Zoom integration, expanded video analytics, and new ways to market their content library.
