Humans and agents rejoice: Mux Robots is now GA
Blog post from Mux
Mux Robots has reached general availability after a preview period that processed tens of millions of video minutes, introducing a stable v1 API, production-ready workflows, and an emphasis on consistent API design that supports both developers and coding agents. New features include analyze-structure, which produces titles, summaries, tags, chapters, scenes, and key moments in one shared analysis pass while replacing the standalone find-scenes workflow, and generate-contextual-text, which creates grounded, channel-specific content such as social posts, blog entries, and newsletters from a video using shared editorial context and optional visual shot evidence. API v1 standardizes conventions across Mux services, uses seconds for timestamps, adds consistent track handling, and will coexist with v0 for at least six months to allow gradual migration. The Robots Playground lets users test workflows visually and generate prompts for coding agents to build integrations, while ongoing improvements include asset metadata updates, output steering, scoped processing, enhanced captions and translations, actionable moderation, improved key-moment clipping, expanded Directives automation, and monthly included usage on Mux’s Free plan. Mux also signals future interest in multimodal video embeddings for semantic search, recommendations, and other vector-based applications.
