Getting started with Mux Robots just got easier (and cheaper)

Mux Video now provides all self-service customers, including Free plan users, with 100,000 complimentary Mux Robots units each month for its built-in AI video workflows. Units reflect the video length and workflow complexity rather than the cost of an individual AI model, and can be used for tasks such as caption translation and editing, summaries, tags, chapters, engagement insights, moderation, thumbnails, and highlights. Examples show that the allowance can support AI processing for either a small library of short videos or several long webinars, while PAYG and Pre-pay customers are billed standard rates for usage beyond the monthly allocation. Free-plan users must have an account administrator enable Mux Robots, create new API keys for API access, and remain within the monthly cap, with the dashboard providing job estimates and remaining balances. The announcement also highlights Directives for automating workflows on every upload, such as correcting brand names in captions or translating captions for broader accessibility, and encourages users to consult documentation or AI agents to identify suitable integrations.
