Connecting your LLM to Mux just got easier: Introducing the remote Mux MCP
Blog post from Mux
Mux has significantly simplified the process of connecting language models to its MCP server with the official release of mcp.mux.com, developed in collaboration with WorkOS, Stainless, and Vercel. Initially, users faced challenges in running the MCP server locally and configuring access tokens manually, which hindered its adoption. The new release introduces OAuth support, streamlining the authentication process and making integration more user-friendly. During the alpha phase, the server was hosted on a basic setup using Fly.io, but it lacked scalability and reliability. Now, with the transition to Vercel and the use of Vercel Functions, Mux's MCP server offers enhanced features and customization options, allowing for more dynamic and efficient workflows. This updated hosting solution also includes variants that focus on specific tools, such as Mux Video and Mux Data, optimizing the server's utility for different applications. Users are encouraged to connect their preferred language model clients to the server and provide feedback, as the code is publicly available in Mux's Node SDK.
