Haley Connelly, a 5th-year Computer Science Major at UT Austin, is a two-time MongoDB Summer Intern. She first joined MongoDB in 2017 as a rising senior and made her return for Summer 2018 to work on her thesis in computational neuroscience. Haley worked on the Storage Team during her first internship, where she helped engineer the mobile storage engine, and then moved to the Query team this summer, using Haskell to model the semantics of the MongoDB Query Language. She attributes her desire to come back to MongoDB for another internship to its great company culture, name recognition, and opportunities for growth and contribution, which align with her interests in systems engineering and problem-solving. Haley emphasizes that the MongoDB internship program provides valuable hands-on experience, allowing interns to work on real problems and make a genuine contribution.
