MongoDB's Green Team is an employee-led affinity group focused on sustainability and environmental responsibility, which began in April 2020 with a goal of driving the company towards becoming a sustainable, social, and environmentally responsible business. The team has made significant progress through education initiatives such as webinars and workshops, and data collection efforts to track the company's carbon footprint. Green Team also collaborates with climate partners like Watershed to calculate their carbon footprint and develop a comprehensive climate strategy. With over 250 members globally, the team is committed to executing its plans and strategies for reducing the company's environmental impact in the coming year. The group aims to incorporate sustainability into every aspect of the business, from product development to office selection, and has received strong support from executive sponsors and stakeholders, both internally and externally.
