New — Live Migrations, More AWS Regions, Queryable Backups & More in MongoDB Atlas` is a release announcement from MongoDB for their database as a service platform, MongoDB Atlas. The update includes three main features: live migration, which allows users to easily migrate existing MongoDB replica sets into Atlas; more availability of the platform in various AWS regions, reducing geographical latency; and queryable backup snapshots, enabling users to restore specific subsets of data at the document level in minutes. Additionally, a new Data Explorer feature has been introduced, allowing users to run queries, view metadata, and analyze index usage statistics without needing to use the mongo shell. These features are now live in MongoDB Atlas, with the platform available in most AWS regions.
