Summary

MongoDB User Groups came together to compete in the Global MongoDB March Madness Hackathon, where they built tools to support the growing MongoDB community. The organizers challenged the groups to build tools that would help the community learn from one another, and after 6 weeks of hacking, the submissions were judged by 10gen engineers. The winning project was Leafblower, an open source dashboarding platform, followed closely by NoSQL Test Results Repository and Mongowebstat, a MongoDB monitoring tool written in Go. Other notable projects included Selene, a simple CMS built with Motor, and Backup, a Ruby Gem for easy backups. The event was made possible by the participation of local user groups from around the world, including Bangalore, Sydney, Orange County, Omsk, Lima, Los Angeles, and Mallorca.
