MongoDB has expanded its reach into the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region by opening two new locations for its fully managed database service, MongoDB Atlas, in Dubai and Bahrain. This expansion allows users to host their databases in Azure's Dubai region and AWS's Bahrain region, reducing latency for those in the MENA region and enabling more responsive applications. Additionally, this development provides regulatory compliance for personal information, as Bahrain has data protection laws similar to the GDPR. With MongoDB Atlas now available in 66 regions worldwide, including 28 on Azure and 18 on AWS, users can locate their clusters anywhere, making it easier to run applications globally.
