MongoDB Atlas, a fully automated cloud database service, is now available in France on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. The new region allows organizations to better serve customers in France by providing a local data center. MongoDB Atlas deployments in AWS EU (Paris) are automatically distributed across three availability zones, ensuring high availability and failover capabilities. In Azure France Central, deployments are distributed across two fault domains, with the option for cross-region replication to enhance fault tolerance. The service is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield and includes GDPR-compliant data processing terms, making it suitable for organizations preparing for the May 25, 2018 GDPR enforcement date.
