MongoDB was chosen by Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare to manage their hospital operations and improve patient care. The healthcare system, which consists of six hospitals and dozens of smaller facilities, relies on a real-time application called Melodi Flow to coordinate services such as room cleaning and patient transport. This application uses MongoDB Enterprise Advanced to provide a master view of every room, along with the status of room cleaners and patient transporters. The use of MongoDB has enabled the hospital to reduce delays between status changes, requests, and raised issues, and has also allowed for the collection and analysis of large amounts of data on patient flow and employee performance. The hospital plans to continue using MongoDB to improve its operations and provide better real-time views into the current state of the hospitals and their patients.
