This year's MongoDB World conference featured a new cohort of Diversity Scholars, who were selected as part of the company's diversity scholarship program. The scholars are from underrepresented groups in technology and will receive complimentary access to the conference, training, and mentorship. They share their experiences and ideas for using MongoDB to build impactful tools, including projects related to data analysis, web development, and database management. The recipients include Aisha Blake, a web developer who wants to create a tool to make online services more efficient; Wendy Tao, a DBA who used MongoDB to redesign the Protein Data Bank website; Jocelyn Harper, a software developer who aims to start a database for women of color in tech; and Harsha Undapalli, a software engineer who uses MongoDB for data analysis. The diversity scholarship program is now open for applications, offering a chance to attend MongoDB World conferences in SF and Europe.
