Meet Daniel Gottlieb, an engineer for the MMS Backup team at MongoDB, who has been working there for just under two years. He was previously employed by ShopWiki and another startup before joining MongoDB. Born in Queens but raised in Edison, New Jersey, Gottlieb is a self-proclaimed "Jersey guy." He enjoys walking to work due to the short commute time. As an MMS Backup engineer, his typical day involves working on development projects with some recruiting efforts, where he appreciates the team's lateral flexibility and opportunities for growth. The most challenging aspect of his job is maintaining discipline in planning, testing, documenting, and reviewing code. Despite this, Gottlieb finds it rewarding to hear that a project has worked successfully after completing the rigorous process. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities, reading, and eating burritos, particularly those from Calexico food carts.
