MongoDB World is an event that focuses on transformation, digital or otherwise, and aims to engage with issues of inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility. The IDEA Lounge is a space where attendees can learn from and socialize with professionals from historically marginalized communities, including LGBTQIA+, women in tech, and BIPOC communities. The lounge will feature talks, workshops, entertainment, and quiet spaces for decompression, and also provide accessibility accommodations to attendees. It will host sessions led by individuals who represent these communities, such as Rob Koch, a deaf principal data engineer, and panel discussions on topics like intersectionality and celebrating achievements in the workplace. The IDEA Lounge also includes social activities like trivia sessions, dueling pianos performances, and book clubs.
