MongoDB aims to make the transition from college to a tech career easier through its internship program, which provides hands-on experience and mentorship opportunities. The company's summer internship program has grown to include over 150 interns worldwide, working in various roles, with mentorship as a cornerstone of the experience. Interns are paired with mentors on their team, a Campus Team mentor, and an optional Affinity Group mentor, participating in professional growth sessions and networking events. After graduating, software engineers have three options to return to MongoDB for full-time work: rotating through different teams, joining a department rotation, or returning directly to their intern team. Both Betsy Button, now a full-time software engineer at MongoDB, and Tristan Wedderburn, also a software engineer, attribute their successful career transitions to the valuable experience and support they received during their internships.
