MongoDB Introduces Workforce Identity Federation with OpenID Connect Support for Database Access

MongoDB has introduced a new feature called Workforce Identity Federation with OpenID Connect support, which allows organizations to centrally manage user credentials and security policies for their workforce users accessing MongoDB Atlas deployments. This feature provides benefits such as centralized management of user lifecycle, password rotation, and multi-factor authentication, while also minimizing the risk of long-living database connections. The feature is currently in preview starting with MongoDB Atlas 7.0 and MongoDB 7.0, and organizations can configure it using the Atlas Federation Management application and their existing identity provider.
