Russell Kaplan, a rising sophomore at Stanford University, is an intern at MongoDB, where he works on the C++ Driver team, building a geospatial API. He had previously used MongoDB in hackathons and learned more about it after joining the company. Russell enjoys working with his colleagues, who are "really smart high-energy people," and appreciates the challenge of producing production-quality code. In his free time, he can beat box, is a fan of Djokovic, and enjoys reading classic literature like 1984. He hopes to have his code integrated into the MongoDB code base during his internship and values the opportunity to contribute to the development of database technology.
