This summer, Elena Chen, a rising senior at the University of California, Berkeley, spent her internship at MongoDB's New York City office, where she was part of the company's renowned professional development program. She found incredible support from her mentor and enjoyed community in Underrepresented Genders in Tech (UGT), an affinity group provided by MongoDB for interns from underrepresented groups. Elena worked on a project building Evergreen's new Waterfall page, which will enhance MongoDB engineers' user experience, and learned valuable skills such as GraphQL queries, schemas, and resolver functions. She also credited her mentor with boosting her confidence and the UGT program with providing a community of mentors who offered guidance and support throughout her internship. Elena emphasized that everyone at MongoDB wants her to succeed and provided her with resources and support from day one, making her decision to intern at MongoDB a positive one.
