Intern Series: From Ecuador, to the University of Toronto, to MongoDB - Meet Jose Cabrera-Ormaza

Jose Cabrera-Ormaza`, a student at the University of Toronto, spent his summer interning on the MongoDB Realm team. He was drawn to MongoDB's commitment to providing free learning platforms and its cutting-edge technology used by other software engineers. During his internship, Jose worked on a project building a transpiler microservice that improved performance using concurrent processing in Node.js and Go. He enjoyed the opportunity to learn from talented people, grow professionally, and be part of a company that values diversity and fosters growth at all levels. Cabrera-Ormaza encourages others, especially those from underrepresented groups in STEM, to pursue their goals despite feeling like they don't belong.
