The Bosch Connected Experience (BCX) hackathon is an annual event where developers from around 45 countries come together to create solutions for various problems, including improving sustainability in commercial building operations and facility management. MongoDB participated in this year's event and helped one of the winning teams build their solution on top of MongoDB Atlas. The team, led by Jonas Bruns, used MongoDB Atlas to develop an augmented reality (AR) application that improves the user experience of smart devices, allowing users to control connected lights in a smart building using AR. The team found MongoDB Atlas easy to use and intuitive, with features such as triggers and preconfigured code examples making it simple to integrate with their frontend and avoid errors. They also appreciated the ability to create different users with access rights, eliminating the need for another server to communicate with smart devices. Jonas and his team plan to continue using Atlas in future projects due to its ease of use and versatility.
