This tutorial provides instructions on how to deploy Sitecore on Microsoft Azure with MongoDB Atlas as the Database as a Service (DBaaS) provider for Sitecore's MongoDB databases. The setup and configuration of the required analytics and tracking MongoDB databases is the responsibility of the operations team running the Sitecore cloud deployment. With MongoDB Atlas, maintenance is made easy by relying on MongoDB's expertise to maintain the database, and benefits are gained from fast, local internet connections between Azure VMs and MongoDB Atlas. The tutorial assumes a new, independent Atlas group for security reasons and provides step-by-step instructions on setting up the cluster, configuring user accounts, and provisioning the Sitecore environment using the Sitecore Azure Toolkit or the Sitecore Azure Marketplace wizard. After deployment, IP whitelisting is configured to allow inbound connections from MongoDB Atlas.
