The MongoDB Modernization Toolkit has been enhanced to help organizations navigate their data center exit plans and assess cloud data platforms. The scorecard now covers three main categories: considerations for data center exit and entry to the cloud, assessment of cloud data platforms, and individual application-level qualification matrices. The toolkit also provides a new section on data center exit criteria, covering factors such as migration of large volumes of data, resiliency and uptime, security and redaction strategies in the cloud, and cost comparisons between cloud-based modern databases and relational databases running on a mainframe. Additionally, MongoDB Atlas and other cloud-native database services are highlighted as key components for organizations making the transition to cloud, offering features such as automated capacity management, support for multi-document ACID transactions, full-text search functionality, and multi-region deployment flexibility.
