The Richmond MongoDB User Group celebrated its first birthday, marking a year since their inaugural meeting where they introduced MongoDB. Highlights from their first year included discussions on mongoctl and mongorctl by Robert Fehrmann, as well as experiences with co-existing MongoDB and SQL servers from Royall & Company. The group also explored the open source project Mongo Connector, which enables lightweight data migrations between sources. To celebrate their anniversary, they introduced new members to MongoDB and reviewed recent features in version 2.4. With a growing community, the MUG plans to meet more frequently with other groups in the next year.
