With the recent update to MongoDB Atlas, developers can now securely connect to clusters from both public and private contexts using multiple connection strings. This enables features such as easier database connectivity, multi-region clusters, and access to Stitch, Charts, and Live Migration on GCP and Azure platforms. The new connection strings allow customers to connect their applications directly to peered Atlas clusters, while also enabling whitelisted public IP addresses for added flexibility. Additionally, this update supports the use of custom DNS providers with VPC-peered clusters and allows AWS customers to leverage private endpoints to connect to Atlas using AWS PrivateLink, providing more control over data transfer and network isolation.
