MongoDB is enhancing its Atlas Online Archive feature with two new capabilities: data expiration and scheduled archiving, both of which aim to improve operational efficiency by allowing customers to set rules for when data should be archived or deleted from their Atlas cluster. The data expiration feature enables users to specify a time frame for data storage in the archive before it is automatically deleted, while the scheduled archiving feature allows customers to schedule the archiving process during off-peak times to prevent potential stability issues with their clusters. Both features are currently available in preview mode and will be generally available soon.
