To enable a seamless online shopping experience for customers in over 100 countries with 70 different currencies, UPS i-parcel uses an infrastructure of MongoDB powered microservices that dynamically provides shoppers with a summary of all landed costs. This allows retailers to increase customer satisfaction and reduce return rates, while also providing reduced time in transit, tracking visibility and simplified transactions. The application is implemented as a set of microservices distributed across the cloud to ensure there's not a single point of failure, and has become an important part of UPS i-parcel's strategy.
