Automated Restores in MongoDB`
With Automated Restores, users now have easier access to their restore files and can automate the restore process using Cloud Manager Automation. To use this feature, specific requirements must be met, including having a replica set or sharded cluster managed by Automation, running the same storage engine as the snapshot being restored, and being in either the Free Trial or Cloud Manager Standard plan. Once started, the Automated Restore process clears out the dbpath, downloads a snapshot from Cloud Manager Backup, seeds oplogs for initial syncs, patches cluster metadata, and starts up MongoDB processes to ensure they are happy. The Automation Agent handles these tasks, making it easier for users to restore their data.
