MongoDB Atlas has introduced network peering on both Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as part of its Atlas Mapped series. This feature allows customers to create secure connections between their application servers and managed MongoDB databases, using private IP addresses. The peering capability is now available for clusters M10 and larger, with support for cross-region VPC peering on GCP and single-region VNet peering on Azure. Additionally, MongoDB Atlas has expanded its availability to new regions in Johannesburg (Azure) and Zurich (GCP), bringing the total number of supported cloud regions to 63 across all three platforms. This update enhances the platform's private network peering options for customers deploying Atlas on these clouds.
