The MongoDB Atlas platform has recently introduced several new features and improvements, including Cross-Region VPC Peering on Amazon Web Services, which allows users to connect their application's VPC to their database in different regions. The platform now spans 60 regions across AWS, GCP, and Azure, with a new data center in Stockholm taking the total number of regions up. Users can now control maintenance times for their clusters by setting a preferred start time and selecting a specific timezone. Custom MongoDB Roles have also been introduced, allowing users to create and apply special roles for users through the Atlas UI or API. Additionally, workload isolation for analytics has been added, enabling separate analytics nodes that can be dedicated to taking the load of analytic queries, isolating them from operational workloads.
