The team aimed to deliver one source of truth for all customer data, enabling staff to access useful data from one place with appropriate permissions. They chose MongoDB Atlas due to its operational best practices, scalability, and ability to automate database operations, which fit their developer-first ethos. The platform is performing well, serving complex queries in around 10ms and writes at 5ms, and has improved call centre experience, fraud detection lead time, and GDPR compliance. The team plans to expand the platform to include data analysis, exposing single view data as a service, and automating more business processes.
