Google has announced the general availability of its Private Service Connect (PSC) integration with MongoDB Atlas, a network access management option that provides secure connections between Google Cloud VPCs and MongoDB Atlas. This integration offers unidirectional connections, where Atlas cannot initiate connections back to the customer's VPC, reducing the perceived network trust boundary. Additionally, it allows for transitive connectivity from on-prem data centers connected to the PSC-enabled VPC with Cloud VPN, making it easier to connect directly to Atlas without using public IP Access Lists. This integration adds to the security capabilities already available in MongoDB Atlas and provides an additional layer of control over network security.
