Vyopta: Shipping fast and reducing operational costs with MongoDB Atlas

MongoDB Atlas appealed to them due to its ease of use, straightforward backup and restore processes, integrated metrics and alerts, scalable configurations, and transparent pricing, which eliminated the need for over-provisioning and unexpected costs. The migration process was simple, involving a mongodump and mongorestore, allowing Vyopta to realize cost savings almost immediately. Additionally, MongoDB Atlas offers an API that facilitates dynamic provisioning of environments for testing, although the current lack of access to metrics through the API is noted as a limitation. Overall, Vyopta's experience with MongoDB Atlas has been positive, and the company has seen considerable time and cost savings since implementing it in production.
