The Internet of Vehicles (IoV) is transforming the automotive industry by connecting vehicles to the internet, generating vast amounts of data that offer valuable insights for manufacturers, vehicle owners, and traffic departments. BAIC Research Institute, part of the Beijing Automotive Group Co. (BAIC Group), is a key player in China's auto industry and heavily invested in IoV technology. The Institute has developed an IoV cloud platform using ApsaraDB for MongoDB to manage and analyze data from over a million vehicles, thereby enhancing services for enterprises and consumers. Facing challenges like large data volumes and high concurrency, BAIC adopted MongoDB for its flexible, scalable data management capabilities, which improve data application efficiency and meet regulatory security standards. MongoDB's document model simplifies data management, and its GeoJSON supports precise vehicle location tracking. The platform's robust infrastructure, including sharded clusters and built-in security features, supports real-time data sharing and AI-driven applications, preparing BAIC for future opportunities in vehicle data centers and AI applications.
