Our journey through Y Combinator

Y Combinator, widely regarded as the world's best startup accelerator, has funded over 4,000 companies since 2005. The article discusses Mintlify's journey through YC, from its early days as Figstack to its pivot and eventual success. After applying to YC with a low-expectations product, Mintlify was invited for an interview and subsequently funded for the Winter 2022 batch. During YC, Mintlify underwent several pivots, including a failed attempt to monetize Doc Writer, a documentation platform that gained traction despite initial struggles. Despite facing challenges, Mintlify continued to learn from its experiences and eventually discovered a viable idea space - a level of abstraction above a particular idea - which led to the creation of the current Mintlify platform, now powering the documentation for hundreds of companies with millions of developers reading it every month.
