The decision was influenced by three main factors: the considerable operational resources required to maintain a marketplace, the potential diversion of focus from their core developer tools, and an acknowledgment that marketplace development wasn't aligned with their strengths. The experience underscored the importance of staying focused on their core competencies during periods of rapid growth.
