Summary

AWS announced an integration of Mem0 Open Source with Amazon ElastiCache for Valkey and Amazon Neptune Analytics to give agentic AI applications persistent memory across sessions. Mem0 orchestrates the extraction, storage, retrieval, filtering, and lifecycle management of memories, while ElastiCache for Valkey provides low-latency vector similarity search for semantic retrieval and Neptune Analytics stores relationship-rich graph memories for multi-hop reasoning. The architecture can run agents through Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Runtime and supports Mem0-compatible frameworks and models, with the example using Strands Agents to build a GitHub repository research agent. In the demonstration, adding Valkey-backed memory allowed the agent to reuse prior research rather than repeat web searches, reducing usage from 70,373 to 6,344 tokens and execution time from 9.25 to 2 seconds. Neptune Analytics further enables the agent to model contributors, repositories, modules, preferences, and other entities as connected graph data, supporting contextual questions that require traversing relationships. The post outlines setup requirements for Valkey 8.2 and Neptune graph resources, describes configuring Mem0 connectors and memory tools, and notes that managed alternatives include Mem0 Platform and AgentCore Memory.
